I had an intern at work last week tell me how bummed he was because the tickets for Blink-182’s summer tour was already sold and there was no way he could get any. I did’t really know how to respond. My first thought was to question why the fuck would he want to get involved with something like that. Then I remembered there was I time I was in the same boat. I have actually been to a blink-182 concert at a time that what was probably their height of popularity. Then I thought back to the time when I started to dislike the band and that was the day I saw Mike Walburn wearing one of their t-shirts. I just said “that sucks” and walked away.

Then this video came through my feeds recently and I have to admit I had a really hard time watching it. Its like if Anthony Michael Hall came back to acting today to play the same nerdy high school character he did in the eighties. He would look like an ass. Making a gagillion dollars off of poop and fart jokes is one thing when your in a punk band. But when you’re all artsy and 35 it just doesn’t look right to me.

Eddie Murphy is not Axl Foley any more, he’s Dr Doolittle. Tom Hanks isn’t Pep Streebeck, he’s the gay guy from Philadelphia. Wait, I mean Robert Langdon. Although, I’ve always wanted Tom Hanks to play some of the characters he did in the 80s, but that’s a whole other blog entry. At least we have filmed evidence of the good ole’ days.
