tweetdeath

After testing the my latest web property last night, something came across the feed that struck my attention. It was a post by a girl, sending an message to a user with the name @jackalltimelow. I got to thinking this was either a) a very big fan of the band all time low or b) one of the actual members. I thought to myself “If this is a member of the band, I’m sure this dick’s got something insightful to say”, so I thought I’d check it out.
Turns out, it was nothing insightful at all. Yet it was a member of the band. And this dick had a twitpic account. So I checked out the first picture and after scrolling the the many comments on how “sexy” and “adorable” this picture was, it hit me. It won’t be long before twitter is chocked full of teeny bopping bitches. Maybe not just yet, but I think its safe to say that it will. I guess this transformations are inevitable.
We’ll see. At least I am attempeted to make a mockery out of it: http://tweenis.net
sunday social #35 – aggregation

I had to explain to my brother what twitter was today. This wasn’t the first time I had to do this and if anyone out there has had to do this, you know the world I entered this afternoon was a very confusing one. If you have had to do this, and never stopped and had the thought that twitter was a wick ridiculous, there might be something way too web 2.0 in you. Whats a wick? Well that’s a different story all together.
Thinking back, roughly a year and a half ago, I decided to sign up for this service. I just looked back at some of my tweets and got a good laugh. Do people really care about what I have to say or am doing? I don’t know. Rachel, Dawn, and even sometimes Lexy used to give me shit about using it. They’d ask me to actually say I was composing a “tweet”, then get a laugh. A little gaslight anthem if you will. Who am I though.
In a quick response and total ripoff of curse bird, I decided to whip up tweenis yesterday. Oh yeah, and its real time…as much as that can be. A lot of talk about watch men.
Still, years and years after its use, demise, then rebirth, so many people cannot distinguish the difference between between java and javascript. Not passing judgment. That probably should have been a tweet.
After getting knee deep in the twitter API and seven budwiesers later, I hit up papa petes for the mustard plug show. Shit hasn’t changed since I saw them in the mid-nineties at the Kalamazoo state theater. And I am so glad it hasn’t. The beer song has never sounded so good. But this time, while drinking a beer.
As for me, I’m getting ready for the working week. See you in wednesday.
going green

If the world ends in 200 years because of my contribution to the demise of our environment, would I really feel that bad? Do I feel bad now? Not really. If I wipe my ass with recycled toilet paper, only my ass feels the pain. I’d kind of like to know if I am going to live forever. Can I suck some blood and cross my fingers? I, for one, am personally sick of questions about the future.
If anything is going green in this world today, its the the clothing of americans on st. paddy’s day. I only own one green shirt and it was exhausted by the time this mourning rolled around. Blue green worked though…well maybe just for Otho. For what its worth, I drank this, ate a hamburger and watched the family guy.
Where does the time go? Happy st. paddy’s day.
sunday social #34 – a guided tour of chicago

This past weekend was spent in the windy city of Chicago. Damn dude, seriously? We had a lot of fun. The weekend started off with a stop by ry guys with a warm up of carlsbad and the beamer. He lives near the actual logan square which apparently consists of a lot of hispanic patrons. Who knew?
After an arguable stretch through the many streets that looked exactly the same, we finally made it to boys town. With no parking spot. Let me know the next time you can luck out as well as I did. Once all was said and done (and a trip to the ‘bay where I saw joe thunderbird. Small world, ehh?), it was back to steve’s apartment for chicago-style pizza and a review of blazing saddles. Break’s over boys.
Saturday was different story. Actually quite the same. A little car trouble, but nothing that wasn’t handled correctly. B. roskowski was getting married and the party ensued. A tranny said dave looked like candy at a store we stopped at. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah, the tequillla bar, where dave was presented with a $200 dollar dinner bill while steve got his bromance on. It was cute though.
After another bar and spilled tecate, it was back to steve’s apartment. Then, my friends, it was off the the L and L. Here, was had a Pabst and listened to some rock tunes. Hoping to see brenden kelly, the night did not go uneventful. The next stop was the wiener circle where I got chewed out by hotdog maker and told by a guy with a pony knob that if I kept up my attitude I would be biting the curb. Oh well, his loss. The whole thing was a little but like this. Only that it was St. Patty’s day weekend and the first niced-weathered day of the year.
The night ended with a last beer at ricks and a cab ride home. Unfortunately, Al’s italian beef was closed on our way back to kalamazoo on wednesday, so no cheese stakes were had. Oh well, maybe next time.
sunday social #33 – you got served
2 March 2009 | Uncategorized | No Responses
When do you get to the point that you think you’ve gone too far? I feel like I get closer and closer to this point as the my life grows older. I mean, do I really need an entire room designated to serve up files? Maybe I do. This past saturday I choose to prove to dave that I CAN use more energy. We spent the good part of the day putting a hole in the wall in hopes of creating a work station. I spent way too much time trying to do this but the outcome was worth it. For the most part.
I also put some money in to vintage keyboards. Because if ain’t clickin, it ain’t workin. My grand sceme is to learn a new programming language with this thing. Maybe write some bach scripts, learn python, or perhaps dive into some assembly. I still have some note taken from school on this, but I picked up some addtional reference for $1.00. Moving bits is all I want to do. That and getting shout outs on the 404.
Oh, and we picked up another piece of hardware. The nighties called, they want their switch back.
