Joe Fearnley – uhhh, right

Its that time of year again that I need to pay homage to a great black man. It is black history month and a couple of dudes pop into my mind. The reasons why are probably mysterious to you but completely reasonable to me.

You see, I don’t watch a lot of tv, but since I’ve been on this health kick for the last month, I need some tv to get me through my work outs. Once I worked through The Sapranos episode on demand, I moved on to the first season of the wire. During dinner, I’ve been catching up on episodes of Doogie Howser, MD (not to mention several other eighties sitcoms) thanks to the awesomeness of boxee (but now hulu is gone for reason I do not understand and no one else seems to either).

One a side note, I never knew Max Casella was that guy in the later episodes of The Sapranos. I mean, I guess I never heard him say “doog” in the show so it never clicked. Come to think of it, I don’t remember much of that guy talking except when pauly beat him up. Wait, was that pauly? Nevermind.

I first was going to write about Markus Remond, but then after watching Family Matters last night, I had a change of heart and chose to write about waldo instead. His real name is Shawn Harrison and really hasn’t appeared in much since the show ended. His character’s full name is Waldo Faldo and had a brother named Ronaldo and a sister named Quesadilla. You can read all about this on his wikipedia page. Which I think is extremely informative and way to large seeing as how the he appeared in a small roll in a sitcom that ended in the mid-nighties.

To me, Waldo was the black Boner Stabone. The realtionship he had to the Winslows was very similar to what Boner had to the Seavers. Though with a little less brain power. He brought laughs to us every friday night every time TGIF was on. Between episodes of Full House and Step by Step, we watched him and Eddie get into all kinds of crazy situations.

So happy black history month Waldo. I managed to squeeze this in just in time. Squeeze…squeeze…just like billy says.
