HAHAHAHAHA!! HAAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHA!!

I suppose this is a major drop as far as depth of content but I saw
this yesterday in the store and laughed so hard I almost peed in my
pants. I also suppose if these magazines can put shit on the cover and end
up in the isles of major grocery stores around the country, I really
shouldn’t really be concerned with content depth at all. I mean who is
this bitch anyway? She was on like one season of a shitting reality
show. I guess I should check wikipedia.

So I officially moved out of my current living quarters into some place new. The suburbs of kalamazoo if you will. I guess if you could call it that. I am extremely disappointed that I am currently missing the last episode of the wire. Bag that, I am pissed off and rachel is hearing all about it. At least I didnt miss because I forgot that today was the day we spring head.

Regardless I have a new place to live and a somewhat new outlook on life. I have a new lab which means a new place to create music. A new place to create web applications. A new place to create……its endless. I have to say that I am a little bummed I have to move. I had a bunch of good memories of this place.

I got locked out twice. Once I had to scale the side of the building in the middle of winter using rachel as boost to get in. Another I walked over to harveys, played pinball and drank beer until I received phone call. I had few gatherings there. None were real good until the spring came and we fired up the drums at seven in the mourning to hear against the east wall of the state theater. I remember hearing the poor bastards revolt and some young hipsters paying rock music in the street around the corner, then walking down the street to see them. Many more good time, I just cannot take the space hear. Walking to the park is awesome. Hearing the park even awesomer. Here’s to 2008, bring me something good.

In other news, I just bought the mistic pizza / say anything dvd combination and plan on watching it. Of course after I finish the chapelle show season 2.

How about holy shit?

lil romeo

In the bathroom today at work I was skimming through the community wall street journal and saw this article. Actually, you really couldn’t missed it because it was on the front page of the Personal Journal section. Apparently lil’ romeo got a full ride scholorship to USC for basketball because he chummed up with some kid from Compton and his dad is Master P. Not only is this bullshit being that he’s not that good at basketball but the fact that this comes with a $44,000 price tag that is totally comped. I am sure this sort of thing happens all the time, but I just hope this story gets the exploitation it deserves. The visual chart was the funniest part to me. Oh, and this quote:

“We may have more 11- to 17-year-old girls in the stands than we’ve had in the past…”

And what exactly does lil’ romeo have to say about all of this?

“my game will speak for itself.”

Let’s hope so romeo. We’re routing for you!

In other news, I hope this dude head explodes – http://www.sajalkayan.com/facebook-founder-is-the-worlds-youngest-billionaire.html

Lets take a moment to talk about the current state of the music industry. I am really fascinated by all the predictions being made by those currently in the industry and those who aren’t. Obviously you got those executives and many others alike who are holding to this dieing model of how things should be handled. It seems these are the ones with a whole shitload to lose. Yet currently still have all of the power. Now I read the articles and listen to the podcasts and everyone has got the ideas but it seems like none of them will ever work.

There are some who may have found a way out (or in?). Take the guy jeff from bomb the music industry. Since day one he has a pretty clear vision and stuck to that vision very well. It says it right there in the name of his band. Create the music, give it away for free, and get out there and entertain. And he takes it one step further but not selling t-shirts, just spraying a fan’s shirt with paint and a stencil. Now this ladies and gents is what music is all about. Does he make a living from making music? I highly doubt it. But he is building a solid fanbase and being the on the other side of the spectrum that doesn’t really have much to lose.

Really, you dont even have to get out there and entertain if you don’t want to, but most feel they owe it to their fans. I know many who could care less about going and seeing their favorite musical act perform. This must be a wonderful time for them. But me, I live for that part of an artist. This also makes me think about the notion of all of these bands currently on tour. Many say its because bands can’t make money selling records. I suppose music has become so damn disposable that the only thing left is the live show. For myself, I am becoming less and less concerned on whether or not I own the cd, but rather that the band is coming to michigan.

I’m not saying this is the first time these things have been said. I just want to say that I am really excited to see where the future of all this takes us and hope it doesn’t suck. Just saying.
