27 December 2007 | music, rock show | No Responses
So christmas is over and the new year will begin in a few days. Will this mean the hair will be gone? Who knows at this point, I think I will decide this weekend. I had a good x-mas. I got money for a macbook and went to a punk rock show. So to sum it up in a few words – happy, cold, and drunk.
So yeah, I saw a wilhelm scream and the flatliners play in Lansing on Saturday. I honestly thought there would be more people there with the success of the band and that local act the swellers we playing. I guess they are not technically local and it was two days before x-mas. But that why we have these days off. To spend them drinking cheap beer and listening to sweet bands play in a smelly club. I gotta say a wilhelm scream were the best I have seen them even though their guitar player seemed a bit intoxicated. The flatliners certainly lived up to my expectations as far as a live show goes and they are pretty nice guys.
I’m hopping on the band wagon. My favorite nine for 2007 in no particular order:
- The Gaslight Anthem – Sink or Swim
- Chuck Ragan – Feast or Famine
- The Flatliners – The Great Awake
- A Wilhelm Scream – Career Suicide
- Strung Out – Blackhawks over Los Angeles
- Bomb the Music Industry! – Get Warmer
- Comeback Kid – Broadcasting
- Every Time I Die – The Big Dirty
- Signal to Noise – Kodiak
As you can see the collection is not very diverse. Oh well, I like what I like. I also decided to cut the beard off while leaving the mustache for the night. I got a new face and a new place to stay for 2008 eight. More to come tomorrow.

16 December 2007 | blog, life, phone | No Responses
I finally got my new phone back last week…I guess this post is a bit late. I have plans to re-design my blog in the near future hear and decided on giving this micro-blogging service another go. I have given up on jaiku as you can see from the widget on this site. I dont really know why. Probably because its friendless or maybe because google bought it. Maybe that’s a better thing?
I am thinking I want to give twitter a go. It seems stable enough and with its mobile version at my fingers tips via this phone, I am going to be hitting this thing hard. See you in social networking land.
In other news, the recording process is impeading greatly due to equipment malfunctions and the house buying process. Once this holiday season is over maybe I can come full circle with it all.
